How to get here

Ipswich train station is a 15-20 minute walk away from the theatre.

There are regular trains along the mainline to and from London Liverpool St, Norwich, Diss, Colchester, Stowmarket, Manningtree and Chelmsford.

There are also a number of branch lines, which run towards Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds, Needham Market, Saxmundham, Woodbridge, Cambridge and Peterborough serving the intermediate stations along these routes.

The theatre is well served by local bus routes with two stops close by to the theatre. They are:

Wolsey Theatre bus stop

This is directly outside the theatre and is served by the following bus routes:

• 8B, 15A & 20 – Operated by Ipswich Buses
• 66 & 88 – Operated by First Norfolk & Suffolk

Ipswich Furniture Project bus stop

These bus stops are located just around the corner on St Matthews Street and are served additionally by the following bus routes:

• 7, 8, 9 & 10 – Operated by Ipswich Buses
• 113 & 114 – Operated by Simmonds

The Spiral car park is an underground car park, its entrance is located at the front of the theatre directly off Civic Drive. The car park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The car par offers an evening rate of £2 which is available after 6pm and operates on a pay as you exit system, which can be done either through using the YourParkingSpace app or at one of the kiosks in the car park. Please note the Spiral Car Park is cashless.

The Spiral Car Park is privately run by YourParkingSpace and is not affiliated with the New Wolsey Theatre. We recommend you allow for a little extra time on your ticket,  as shows occasionally run over the advertised run-time.

The Wolsey Car Park is an open-air car park beside the theatre directly off Civic Drive. The car park is over two levels, as well an additional section along Chapman Lane. You can pay in person using either cash, contactless card or a number of parking apps including RingGo and Just Park on arrival.

The car park offers a £2.50 evening rate if you arriving after 6pm. This is valid until 6am the following morning.

Please follow the instructions on the signage to activate the evening rate using the yellow button on the machine. this tariff is only valid in the Wolsey Car Park.
