About us
The New Wolsey Theatre is a multi-award winning venue with a 400-seat auditorium, a community participation space in its NW2 building, a vibrant and buzzing Café & Bar, and has one of the most ambitious community outreach programmes in East Anglia.
As an NPO (National Portfolio Organisation), we are part-funded by Arts Council England and Ipswich Borough Council. This funding represents only 25% of our organisation’s annual turnover which means we must generate the remaining income to sustain our work through box office sales, fundraising, donations, sponsorship, membership and other sources. We are a ‘not-for-profit’ charity and without the generous support of our sponsors and members we simply couldn’t achieve our mission.
Your investment enables us to continue providing accessible theatre, on and off stage, sustain our important cultural role in building and sustaining local communities especially with young people and underrepresented communities, and strive to provide every part of Ipswich with opportunities to participate in, make and enjoy culture.
